Since my graduation as physical therapist (1979) till my retirement (July 2020) I was affiliated to the Van Creveldkliniek, Netherlands. In that year decorated as an Officer in the Order of Orange-Nassau by the mayor of Houten, as well as received the Rare Angel Award by the Patient Alliance for Rare and Genetic Diseases (VSOP). I am still active as volunteer for the WFH (e.g. Twinning and guidelines) and advisory board of the EHC. Awarded with the Van Creveldkliniek twice as Twin of the year (WFH), and personally as International healthcare volunteer (WFH), Pietrogrande Award (WFH) and Recognition Award (EAHAD). Former boardmember of the MSK and first chair of the physiotherapists committee (EAHAD). Extended experience in Twinning activities, workshops and presentations internationally and (co) author of articles in this field. Special interest in ways to implement functional orientated physiotherapy care in PWH and allied disorders world-wide, and use of the International Classification of Functioning (official document of the WHO).
